3 World Jellyfish Day: Celebrating these brainless animals that have inhabited and floated throughout the oceans for millions of years. Jellyfish have been around 500-700 million years and are the oldest multi-organ animal. There are more than 2,000 known species of jellyfish worldwide. While there are at least 70 species of jellies that can cause harmful venomous stings to humans, the majority of species are actually harmless. You can see for yourself at our jelly touch exhibit.
